we're thinking about M1530 w/9cell battery and understand the 9 cell battery protrudes--

does anyone have one and can u recommend a good carrying case
    (messenger or backpack)

also, if we find the 9 cell battery to be a 'pain' -- can we replace it w/a 6cell ourselves? thx.

    Yes, quickly and easily.

There are many thoughts and suggestions on this question. I just got The North Face Off Site shoulder case. I will post a review once it arrives this week.

With the odd size restraints, with the 9cell, I found it more convenient to buy a notebook sleeve, belkin, and just put that in my everyday, non-laptop, backpack; it works very well and my notebook is just as safe.

I have that Belkin sleeve, too -- the neoprene one. It's not bad for the price. I have to think that the laptop would still be toast, though, if it was dropped and landed on a corner.
