    Hello,

Please look at my sig for the information. I got T7700 processor, and it features Intel Virtualization Technology. I run MS Virtual PC 2007, and I found out the hard way that the hardware virtualization isn't available. Well, my E1505 with T7200 has the same feature and it is enable on the bios.

I called Dell XPS Tech. First, he claimed that my CPU doesn't support the feature, so I pointed him to Intel website. He saw the information, and he stoped argue with me. Now I asked him what up with M1530. How come it doesn’t have hardware virtualization on its bios. He could not answer me and wanted to hang up the phone.

My question is what gives? How come Dell didn’t implement the feature in the bios? I know that there is nothing wrong with the OS, so Vista isn’t the problem. The problem is Dell bios. I really a little upset that I can’t take full advantage of my CPU feature. Anyone knows anything and wants to let me know about this issue?

    Thanks

I had it on my E1505 too. I do a lot of virtualization, and I am taking a performance hit big time. I was surprise why my Server 2003 is so slow on my Virtual PC, and I found out the hard way. I am begining to miss my E1505 now.

    To outofthisworld

I read the article, but it doesn't related to my problem. Dell didn't implement vitualization option in M1530 bios, so we can't take advantage of T7xxx virtualization feature. For me, it is very important because I use it to test my SMS 2003, GPO, routing protocol, and etc. God!!! I am mad now. I want to talk to Dell programmer that how in the world you forget this option in the bios.

there should be able to be a bios update to add this option in there. we could all start a group to urge dell to add this option to the 1530. with enough support im sure we can make it happen.

This is really sad. It's clear that with all of the problems and now this, that Dell rushed the 1530 to market prematurely, or they just don't really give a damn because they're selling so many of them regardless; sad.
