    Can u even get at the GPU to upgrade it? :confused:

    unlikely man... so far everyone has been saying that only dell can upgrade the gpus from their laptops.. Due to size/heat/bios limitations.

    If a gpu you want isnt offered... dont buy the laptop, because you might never get it.

    It depends on a lot of different factors.

    If the 8600GT is modular and not part of the motherboard, then there is a small possibility of being able to upgrade; however, Dell would have to offer a better part on the same system later on for it to work (also taking in to consideration a compatible BIOS being used to recognize the card ).

    If it is part of the mobo, then the only chance is if there is another mobo put out with a better part, but this would be extremely costly and would probably make more sense selling your system and buying the new one.
