    Hi all,

I just realized that you can use two external monitors on the M1530! This is really quite unique, since many laptops will only support one monitor plus the laptop screen. But using the VGA port, the HDMI port, and a $5 HDMI -> DVI adapter I bought on Amazon, I am using two monitors, and an external keyboard and mouse, and have the laptop neatly hidden behind everything. Even Apple's MacBook Pro can't do that!

It's really nice being at a desk again, having access to these two large screens. I have no idea what the maximum resolutions are - I'm using 1280x1024 + 1440x900, but I bet you can do a lot higher than that.

Unfortunately you can't also have the laptop screen enabled for a third screen.

The XPS M1330 can do this as well. The laptop screen will not work in this scenario. Any two monitors will work at the same time (out of the VGA, HDMI, laptop).

Unfortunately the VGA out of the 1330 with integrated Intel graphics is not as good as it could be. The HDMI out is perfect though.

Quality of VGA is often dependant on the monitor receiving it. My Dell 2405 does an extremely good job of displaying VGA. Almost indistinquishible from DVI from the same graphics card.

If the notebook offered HDMI and DVI I would go this route, but I don't see myself wanting to pair HDMI with VGA for my uses. I'd simply use the notebook screen instead.
