I've been reading this forum for 4 months and learned alot. Thanks guys/gals
I just ordered an E1505 last week and saw a deal on M170 today. Now i'm unsure with my E1505 purchased and hope you guys can help me decide.

My uses are web surfing, photo & video editing, DVD Rebuiler CCEing and web design. I am not a gamer since i don't know how to play any of the hi-tech games

    My E1505 specs:
    T2500/2.0GHz DuoCore
    2GB DDR2
    100GB 7200RPM
    WSXGA+ screen
    256MB X1400
    8x DVD+/-RW
Intel Pro 3945 with Dell 350 Bluetooth
    6 cell Battery
    9 cell Battery
    1 year mail-in service
I paid $1391.74 after coupon and Tax thru EPP

    The M170 i'm considering is:
    2 GHz
    UXGA with TrueLife
    1 GB DDR2
    256MB Go 7800 GTX
    60GB 7200 RPM
    8x DVD+/-RW
    Intel 2200 wireless
    9 cell battery
    15 months PC-cillin Internet Sercurity
    1 year mail-in service
$1377.86 is what it will cost me after coupon and tax.

Please help me , this is my first laptop and i want to keep it for at least 3-5 years. Thanks.

    xps sucks!
there's no excuse for dell to not offer dual core on their "best" line
    stick with what you have

But the new XPS systems (those similiar to the M170) will most likely cost a fortune to buy though...

which one of the two is better please?
also for the e1505 do you i spent too much money for it right? I saw in here that most people tried not to go over $1000 for their new notebook, is there a reason for it?
Sorry for having too many questions.

better to get spec'd out inspiron than budget xps, as COUPONS!!.
ps. i DON'T care is the core duo XPS are "coming"
there's still no excuse for them to not be out now.
to have their inspiron's be better than their flagship??????

    Don't flame XPS

There are people that care more about the GPU than a somewhat faster CPU.

Thats why they still sell the XPS at a higher price than most other Inspirons

The XPS is meant for gaming and the Inspiron line isn't (though some are capable). An XPS with a single core CPU and a 7800GTX is way better for gaming then an E1705 with a Core Duo and an X1400.

Personally, I would take an XPS with a single core PM and a 7800GTX over any current Inspiron.
