Sound corruption may occur on the M1710 portable computer when the Dell LightFX are being used. This can cause the sound to skip when both are used simultaneously. The behavior is a side affect of a hardware limitation on this system and cannot be remedied. To resolve the audio corruption disable or remove the LightFX plug-ins through QuickSet.

Unfortunately, this is the only option at this time. New drivers may come along in the future, but I doubt it.

What you can try is, remove your audio drivers from the system completely via Add/Remove programs. Restart your system and let Windows find the drivers for you. Sometimes this works. Sometimes it doesn't. But it's worth a go :)
