I've been trying for days to find an M17x r2 on Dell Outlet. Every now and then the exact same computer will appear, but I'll click on it and get an error message. I'm assuming I get the error message because somebody has already put it in their cart. I have literally sat down for several hours refreshing the page every 30 seconds and still no luck. I heard that some people use programs to store items in their cart so nobody else can purchase them; is that what I am being faced with? I have talked to Dell Online, and they provide absolutely no help. Is their phone service any better? I'm just looking for any help on how to find computers on Dell Outlet.

You'll have to spam refresh over and over again with only a few seconds delay between each refresh. Once you find one, add it to you cart right away, without upgrading warranty or adding accessories (you can upgrade warranty / add accessories after it's in your cart). It took me about 20-30mins to get 1-2 M15x's in my cart (even though I ended up not buying one after all). Tbh, if I were you I would wait and buy a laptop with Sandy Bridge. I ended up canceling an M15x that I snagged for $730 (before tax) due to the fact that Sandy Bridge in only 1-2 weeks away.

The reason I am buying from the Outlet is price is a limiting factor. Will I be able to get an r3 (even at the outlet) for less than $2,000? Do you think that when the M17x r3 is released, the Outlet should restock the M17x r2 for shelf space?

I'm not sure if the Outlet will restock more M17x's, my guess is that when Sandy Bridge comes out, the price of M17x's and other laptops will decrease. How soon do you need a laptop? If I were you I would hold off until prices go down.

Do you think the prices will drop enough to close the gap between new and used M17x r2. I assume the best time to buy as far as price and inventory would be mid to late January. Is this correct?
