    Hi everyone,

Due to some (a lot) of problems with my A8Js, Asus is going to issue me a refund. I'm considering buying a M2300 (I want a business class laptop so that it lasts for the 3 years of warranty without thinking when it will brake apart), but I can't find any information on this model. Can anyone give me some some information about this model. I was able to secure a nice deal:

    - t8300 2.4ghz
    - Base Discrete FX360M Graphics
    - vista64
    - 160gb HD
    - 14.1 (1440*900)
    - Price: £999 (VAT and delivery included)

I'm particularly picky on the noise produced by the laptops. Any information on this laptop?

    Best,

Not really the answer you're looking for, but even a Latitude will go a 3 year stretch without problems. My D600 is going strong, 4+ years today.

Good luck. The 2300 looks like a solid machine.

    Regards,
    Paolo

The 2300 is essentially a slightly more exciting D630.

Most of the chassis is identical with the exception of the lid: the D630 has a simple gray lid with the Dell logo in the center and the M2300 has a fancy Precision style decor.

Component wise everything should be of the same choice as well, save that, with respect to a GPU, the M2300 will get you up to an FX360M and the D630 will only get you an NVS135M. I don't think the performance difference between the two is spectacular, though.

You're paying a significant premium on the M2300 as well. I think a substantial amount of it is for services, so if you don't need those, you're much better off getting a D630.

Thank you all for the replies!
cvx5832: how's the D630 in terms of noise produced?
