I got this information from a guy in Dell, but since I haven`t seen something similar before I have to assume that this info is not yet released in public...

    “M6300 with 256MB FX1600 outperforms M90 with 512MB FX3500 in all key ISV applications”

I'm not familiar w/ ISV applications, but 3500M is same card as 7950GTX, and it wil out perform FX1600(8600GT) in higher resolutions.

I'm basically saying if you upgrade from M90 w/ 2500/3500M card to M6300 is not exactly an upgrade when it comes down to running games/3d aps.

Only fool would pay retail (especially with Dell) :).

Anyways, I have both cards and if the XPS does not use SLI mode, there's no competition in games(even 3dmark will show 2500M is superior in single mode) M90 is a very powerful machine, and it was very cheap atleast in my books.

Just go to Nvida site, and check the hardware spec's on it.

Dell will tell you anything to sell their machine anyways.

you`re still talking about gaming,....this is another pair of shoes, and still you`re overlooking one important fact... it`s not only the GFX that gives a results in application ... M6300 also has much faster processor unit available, so the results are overall. not only Gfx

    Here's my point though.

If you spent $$ getting M90 w/ 3500M, something goes wrong, and Dell offers replacement of current M6300, you will definately see the performance drop in 3d applications, and it's really your loss IMO to just take M6300.

    check this links m8:

    http://www.spec.org/gwpg/Nov1_07/apc.data/Dell/m6300/maya65/maya_result.html
Anyway, after a lot of sleepless nights, I decided that it`s a good investment (taking M600 instead of M90) cos I will have the fastest notebook machine available, plus upgradeable with better gfx when available (and that is a thing I plan to do)
as far as I see it, it would be dumb of me investing money in notebook that is discontinued anyway
