    Hi,

I'm awaiting my new M90 that I've ordered with 2GB of 667 ram installed as standard, and was thinking about upgrading to 4GB myself (no way am I paying the price Dell want for the upgrade!), my issue is that I'm in the UK and from the tech specs on Dell UK, they say that the M90 only supports 4GB RAM @ 533mhz. The US website says 4GB @ 667mhz! Any ideas? Are the specs of US vs UK M90's different?

    DELL UK:

    DELL US:

I wouldn't think they are different unless some of the internal parts are different. Either way 533 has a lower clock speed but a higher access rate. 667 higher clock speed but slower access rate. But seriously there is hardly no difference unless you are looking at benchmarks. For the average user you would never see any difference.

Thanks, will be speaking to Dell in the morning, see if they can shed any light on the issue aswell. Would be interesting to see what the benchmark differences are with the different RAM configs tho. Will have to post when it finally arrives :)

Honestly the difference in numbers would be minimal at best. Were talking a few points difference. I actually have a mobo that supports 667 but I went with the 533 because of the lower access times. I wouldn't sweat the 2 differences. Good luck with your new lappy!
