Well I don't know if you have a multi-card reader on that machine, if you do-Do you have any other sticks- Like Smartmedia or Compact Flash, etc. So you can isolate that it's only the SD and not the other slots. Also if you have another MMC Card. Since it works on your friends desktop, can you backup your stuff and then try formating it and then try to access it? Sometimes it may be an error on the file system on the card. Also try formating from Windows and then from the Camera or portable device you use on itself. Hopefully it works. This happened on the card reader on my Portable Printer, I tried all this before I called for an RMA. They say these card readers are a dime a dozen, and eventually you'll get a crappy one. Just like Floppy drives, they're very cheaply made.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

    However, this happened before too.
I have tried different cards and they worked, for some reason, my brothers card i tried using to transfer some pictures, but it didnt work, it works on his laptop though, then today i try this card(MMC)Samsung to transfer some files again, and laptop doesnt recognize it.

Any other suggestions? Any drivers available for download?

    Thnx for trying thou.

You can check Dell for downloads, but sadly this is a common problem. Cards still aren't as standard as they should be.
