    hi everyone.
i have a problem with my dell inspiron 1100 laptop. when i turn it on, the Dell screen comes up, then quickly switches to a screen that asks you to, either, Start Windows normally, in Safe Mode, Last Known Good Configuration, etc...
well, whatever i option i chose, it begins to boot windows Xp , then it stops and a black screen appears an a error pops up and says,

" services.exe - Unable To Locate Component This Application has failed to start because MSVCP60.dll was not found. Re-Installing the application may fix this problem "

now cause of this, i cannot log onto windows, and cannot use my computer. Anyone know how to fix this issue?? thanks for the concern....

Yes you need to get that missing file back into your \windows\system32 directory.

If you can enter in "Safe Mode" click on "start"->"run" type sfc /scannow and hit enter. If this utility detect missing files you'll need XP CD to copy it from.
You can also try "Last known good configuration" option.

If non of the above works you may need to search this DLL on google.com then copy it manually somehow to your \windows\system32 directory..

Edit: I just read your post more carefully so I guess you're stuck with the manual option. I found the DLL you need right here.
