I've tried searching it, it's not in this list, but I was wondering if I could buy it and then possibly upgrade it to an 9600 when (if) it comes out, or an 8700, (which isn't realy necessary because I can overclock, but whatever)

So would I be able to upgrade to a 9xxx?

    thanks :)

Bottom line: for ANY Dell notebook, for an upgrade to be possible they have to have sold the notebook with that card at some point in time. Dell uses a proprietary design for them by them, so another source is out of the question.

    It isn't MXM.

Just out of curiousity, are there any notebooks that DO support MXM?

    Yes...Look at this table

Also, Just because they support MXM, it doesn't guarantee that you will be able to upgrade in the future.
