I was going to say if you got to the dell screen, try booting into safe mode and then doing a recovery to before you installed sw but since it's completely unresponsive now, that's probably not gonna happen. Call Dell tech support ASAP.

make sure you dont have anything plugged into your laptop when you start it ie an ipod. I had the same problem not being able to get past the dell logo screen because it was trying to find an OS on my ipod haha

one more question that I forgot to ask the tech guy, when I send my laptop to the depot, do I send in all the peripherals, cds, manuals and stuff too?

usually no, just send the unit itself. They won't need anything other than that to do the repairs or diagnose. They should have dispatched you a box to send it back in. Typically that box is just big enough to fit the unit anyway.

    Sorry some more questions.

    1) How long does it usually take to ship out my laptop for depot repair and get it back? (I live in Montreal Canada) and if I'm not home to recieve the box to send the unit in will they try again?

    2) I can't seem to find any information on refunding. Will I get a 100% refund even if the laptop is broken? (not by me, hardware failure)

Since you have just received your laptop, YES.You can get a full refund.
You may try requesting for in-home service rather than sending it to a depot because there are chances of mishandling and also less time to have it fixed.
Above all, you sould have the option of getting it replaced with a brand new one as well (if you have the patience to wait for another one:wink :)
If you are happy with the laptop, then just get this issue fixed, preferably at home and enjoy your lappy...

if you are within the 21 day. you should do exchange...
it will take as long if not less... unless you got the nice LG screen then it's a keeper.
