    Hi,

I have had my 1210 since June, and it has been little nightmares throughout. First, as you can see in my forum history, I had major issues with the monitor. The reflection on the srceen was too strong, while the brightness/ contrast was very uncomfortable, I called Dell and they told me that there isnt anything they can do about it. My solution was to slash out $300AU on an Asus 19WS LCD. (At the same time Windows wouldnt shut down on a very inconsistant basis. But I left it, cos i believed that it was issues with Windows, as I never really believe that Microsoft has done a good job.) FINE! Portable and large srceen great idea, i thought. But oh no, the driver on the nvidia 7400 wouldnt support the srceen native resolution. So I erased Windows and started installation from srcatch, and upgrading the driver to the 97.xx. (At this time I was extremely busy with uni, and 1210 was my only system.) Then, as i thought things were finally going my way, Windows wouldnt start up, it would load, but when done there will be a blank srceen. So, having strong believe in Dell's hardware, i kept trying installing windows with the lastest driver version, and different softwares to find out which software is causing the issue. But there is still no luck! I can install most daily programs, ie. office, winiso, and all the drivers, but after a couple of restarts, and shut downs, the system still hangs during startup. Also, there was one situation where i had the blue screen of dealth telling me that there were issues with IRQs, i am no expert on these as all i know about pcs is its most basic form. So, I am at a dead end. No way to have a reliable system......

I will call dell tomorrow and hope they can do something about it.

thanks for letting me to compliant on here

Yea if you have IRQ problems, that indicates that there is a hardware conflict/problem occurring. It's rare to see IRQ problems nowadays though.

I have had the tech guy come and replaced my DVD drive and the HDD. Reinstalled windows and everything was fine. I had blue srceen once when restoring a ghost image. Then now I am getting blue srceen again. I simply boot into safe mode and restart, and it went into windows again.

Any ideas!?!?! I have currently using the drivers coming from Dell.

Also, Icant put back my creative audigy, it saids its expired. I called dell and they cant help! Really getting frustrctured now

I heard there is also a intel chipset driver which can fix some issues. But i really dont have time to play around. Anyone know what i should do?

With your display drivers, do you just install them over the old drivers? If you do especially many times, your going to have issues. You should always uninstall a display driver before installing a new version, there a re little bits and pieces that dont get overwritten, and can cause minor to serious conflicts.

Out of curioisity, what driver did you use that didnt support the 19" WS?, My M1210 with the Dell drivers for my 7400 has no problems running my acer 19" or 22" WS displays at their native resolution

i used the one from the Dell site. Something like 84.xx. But the monitor would work at native res if i use 97.xx. There is no driver for the monitor tho... Do u driver for yours?

    Sorry just one more thing.

There is a large chance the display card driver is doing something. As during gaming today, I have had a blue srceen for the first time during windows operation. I will contact dell about this, as this is very serious to me.
