    Hi all,

I have a question several utilities report the 8600GT in my 1520 has 512mb of memory now is that correct or are the utilities wrong? could it be that the system shares 256mb with the card?.

    Thanks

    AJ

The card has 256 and can share 700+ w/ 2 GB of RAM. Shared memory does next to nothing.

Some versions of the 8600m GT have 512MB. What computer do you have?

PS Use GPU-Z to answer your question.

No. It's manufacturer determined. The Dells all have 256, DDR2 and GDDR3. Apple uses both 128 and 256 GDDR3 cards, while Sager uses a 512 DDR2 one. All are 8600m GTs.
