When the AC adapter is not connect to my laptop, my gaming performance goes not drastically. When I play WoW, my FPS drops to 8... How to I turn my processor to the maximum performance and my video card to the maximum performance?

Install Notebook Hardware Control and set it to max power when you are on battery. There is also the option of: desktop -> properties -> screensaver -> power options -> and adjust the power schemes there. Set it to something like desktop. However, I'd still recommend using NHC as it is an excellent piece of software.

Aren't these options also available to change in the bios?
-
I've been trying yo do that for months now! There's no option in the bios to maximize the CPU performance, you can just put it to minimum or speed step.
How can I do that with NHC? It doesn't overwrite the bios settings. -
Hmmm I think i figured it out...
Change your Power Options to Always On
Refer to this page starting with the section called Integration -
I'll put it to more tests though.
Thanks! -
Any word on the results?

Just put your power options in the Screen Saver tab to Home Office Desk power option.
Then if you use Nvidia go to the options in there and change the powermizer settings to max performance on battery.
If you do max performance on power the battery life will drop rapidly to half the hour of usage than in powersave mode. If you laptop on power save mode can run for 1:40 min (6 cell ) it'll drop to 1 hour. -

Excellent...is it just me or was that too easy? -
It was so easy that I never thought of!

Question:
I'm using the Always On setting and am getting a much less battery life, and Windows also says that the CPU speed is at the maximum. In I8KFANGUI when I set the CPU speed reading to realtime calculation it also shows that the speed goes up to the maximum.
But when set I it to "Ask BIOS for the speed" it shows 1000MHz instead of 2330MHz. Does windows has the authority to overwrite BIOS? Have guys found any "performance" difference by using the Always On preset? I still have a little doubt that it really works, because of the stupid BIOS!
I guess I should run the super pi test. -
Answer! It works.
