    Hi there,

M1330 in Australia are offered with only one option for video: 8400M GS with 128MB GDDR3 memory.

My question is, what is the maximum number of resolution I could achieve with this when I plug in an external monitor?

    Thanks!

Dell says 1920x1200, so no 30" monitors for you. ;)

That's the point of 30" LCDs? Really?

I wonder how it would look on a Plasma TV? since it has HDMI..

From the Nvidia specs, the 8x line should actually support dual QXGA. OEM specs are often misleading or just plain wrong (eg: their claim that the maximum memory is 4GB)...

Personally I love large monitors in general cause it helps relaxing/readability. I use wireless keyboards or laptops in my lap, almost exclusively, so I tend to prefer to shift away from the monitor..

I'd love it if it was 30" _and_ had qxga, but UXGA should be sufficient in my case! Much better than friggin wxga :| that the m1330 comes with.

    Thanks everyone!

I am happy as long as I can get to 1680x1050 connecting to my 22" Samsung 226BW instead of being constained to 1280x800, and maybe later I will get a 24" when the price becomes more affordable here.

The M1330 supports 1080P resolution through HDMI. You shouldn't have a problem hooking up to any HDTV. Make sure you buy a TV that has a higher resolution screen. Older plasmas will actually have lesser pixels on screen than the M1330 does.
