So I recently bought a new 1520 (specs in sig) with complete care plus which comes with both LoJack Software and a 3 year subscription to McAfee Security Center.
As I was installing the Lojack CD today I read on LoJacks website that McAfee's latest update isnt compatible with Lojack so in order to Install Lojack you have to Uninstall McAfee Install the lojack software and reinstall Mcafee.
Since I plan on Reformatting every 3 months or so I dont want to have to go through this process everytime so i plan on calling dell and asking them to switch McAfee to another AV software Suite. I was never that fond of Mcafee in the first place, it doesnt give the user much control.
So I was looking for a recommendation for another good anti virus suite to change to.

Depends on what Dell is willing to offer you for McAfee. I don't think they sell anything besides McAfee and Norton and both are subpar, to say the least.
Kaspersky, Nod32, AVG, Avast...
There's a bunch of threads and I think a sticky somewhere concerning AV software. Try searching for them. -
I think they offer PC Cillin too, any info regarding that would be helpful

Well I decided to go with Norton 2007 i think. Compatibility won't be a problem, and i heard it got lighter since last year. But Dell has been shuffling me from department to department Tech Support > Customer Service > Sales > Tech Support > Customer Service (and im still on hold as we speak). They are trying to make me pay for a product I already payed for and is not compatible with my system. I swear Tech Support is located in like Australia or something they all sound Australian, while customer service is India, but of course sales is in the U.S.

Can you provide a a link to Lojack's website wherei t list the incompatibility?

I dont know if it is mentioned on their website.
I can attest though that when you are installing lojack, it pops up a message during the installation that says something to the effect of "Warning, Lojack will not install if you have McAfee, you need to uninstall McAfee first" -
im not sure if you need the installation cd to view this like but ill give it a try
