I'm on the verge of purchasing a Dell e1505 but I'm a little concerned with the operation system. I've heard that some audio recording programs aren't compatible with MCE 2005. I've also read that you really need to get the TV tuner and Remote ($99 extra) to properly use MCE. Any thoughts?

I have MCE 2005, but don't see a point in using a notebook as a TV, so I didn't get a tuner. However, get a remote, as they will be compatible with other applications (ie. iTunes, Media Player, etc). I do regret somewhat that I didn't get Pro. They have multi-processor support and better performance... And also, products that work with Home or Pro should work on MCE, as it's based on Pro (I think you can actually registry hack MCE back to pro).

Well, it doesn't have multi processor support, but all have multi-core support and multiple processor systems are still not widely used among home users.
I have heard of no issues with sound alongside MCE, can you give us a link to check out? -
Here is a list of unsupported audio hardware and software.

From what I can tell some people have no problems, while others are having issues. -
Everything I read is that MCE is essentially XP Pro with the extra media center features tossed on top.

Iceman0124 More news from nowhere
it is pro with a few additions and the removal of some advanced networking features

Thanks for all your help! I'll just assume that it hasn't been officially supported by various companies because they haven't gotten around to doing it.
