I'm currently preparing to reformat my laptop for Win7 RTM and was thinking about giving MD a second shot, but I only think of disadvantages. I mean:

    1) Videos look like crap in their media player. Their upscaling algorithm could use some work...
    2) H.264 is not supported, so no HD video
    3) It requires an separate partition

The only potential advantage I can think of is the battery life. Is it any better in this area than Vista/7?

i mean the only reason to use MD is that the bootup time is much faster

or you could maintain a ubuntu/linux partition for media playback/browsing and not put any crap in there.. i think 4-8GB is definitely enough for ubuntu, and the boot times are less than a minute...
