    Hello,

After updating mediadirect 3 with the codecs, everything would work fine except for the "Exit" option, when I click on it, I get a light blue background with the mouse pointer only, nothing happens after that. However when i press the power button the system would hibernate. Why cant this happen in the "Exit" option? if there is any solution please post thanx...

Seem like one of your codec installers has messed up. When installing codecs on MD be careful not to install any unwanted stuff like encoders, toolbars, freeware tools etc. just install the base codec. because even though MD is an XP installation it may not load all the libraries or services as in normal Windows, therefore those additional stuff you install may cause exceptions or wait for something that is not there. Try running the codec installers again and see if you can uninstall them, try to pinpoint the problematic codec.

If you want an alternative shutdown method, then launch cmd.exe and type "shutdown –s –f –t 5" without the "". 10 for the number of seconds.
