I'm curious to hear about peoples' experience using MediaDirect to play DVDs and videos and how the battery life measures up against booting Windows and playing from there. Significant? Plane-ride revolution?

I have the 1705 and I haven't noticed any significant changes in battery life.

On a QVC infomercial thing for the M1210 it said that using it increases battery life by 30-40%

@tears - Would you mind testing this out? Not that I don't believe the tech-savvy people at QVC, mind you.... ;)

I tried this with the BladeII DVD on my 1705. In Windows the movie finished with about 5 minutes to spare, in MD add another 7-10 minutes.
That was with the bigger battery, not the standard battery.

I tried it on my E1705 and I noticed about a 30 minute increase in battery life while watching a movie with media direct.
