I had to chime in here: Let it rest. In case you didn't notice, the discussion is getting civil and productive again, as it should be.

No, problem, I was basically responding to md02geist, who hilariously is here repping people for "keeping it civil" after his attempts at cheap shots at me.

You need Business, Ultimate or Enterprize for file level encryption. You need Ultimate for BitLocker Drive Encryption...

I unfortunately, have no experience with free encryption tools as none of them seem to fit the bill.
Maybe someone here can recommend one that they have used?

    That was a cheapshot.

No, it wasn't. I'll reiterate: it's one thing if you don't know how to do something. I don't know how to do LOTS of things. It's another thing to not know how to do something and then blame someone ELSE (e.g., Dell, Microsoft) for your failing.

Here's how a normal advice thread goes:
Q: Hey, I noticed that MediaDirect seems to be unsecured. Is there a way to change that?
    A: Sure ...[answer].
    Q: Oh, OK.

    Ex: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=252817

    Here's how this thread went:
Q: OMG, Dell sucks!! I found out that MediaDirect is unsecure! Thanks, Dell, you suck!
A: You could do this ...[answer].
Q: Yeah, but why should I have to? Dell should have known! Dell sucks! I'm going to get an Apple! Apple is cool!

    I stand by my comments.

You could always try 3rd party encryption software...like TrueCrypt or something else...

@ Kame.. Could we give it a rest...?
