The Mediadirect splash comes up immediately after pressing the "home" button on the m1530 (totally off). Then for some reason it begins to start Vista (with the green bars on the black background), then after loading Vista, asks me for password, then after entering password, my Vista desktop is loaded, with system tray, desktop icons, everything, THEN Mediadirect appears as a window on my desktop.

I thought Mediadirect boots into its own "OS", thus not using Vista at all? So simply the MD button just starts Vista and then Mediadirect, in Windows?

Or is something messed up? I do have Acronis Secure Zone, perhaps thats messing up the MD partition? But I don't see how that could mess it up, as the MD splash does come up after pressing the button.

    bump

I've done a restore by pressing F8 at Vista boot and doing "repair", its totally back to factory. At least Vista is.

But when I press the MD button from an OFF state, it boots Vista, then starts MD, ON my vista desktop. Shouldn't MD be standalone, like not loading Vista, loading its own "OS?

At least SOMEBODY, tell me if this is the correct behaviour or not.

Yes, it should be standalone. It has it's own hidden partition on your harddrive. Maybe yours got erased or something?
