    I recently upgraded my m1330 to 64bit Vista and decided to upgrade my ram from 2gigs to 4gigs. I purchased the "OCZ 4GB PC2-5400 DDR2 / SODIMM Dual Channel Kit (2X2GB) / PN - OCZ2MV6674GK / OCZ" ram that was on sale on fry's. Anyway, I received it today and installed the ram. I booted up windows and all seemed fine but in a matter of minutes, some windows programs started freezes like crazy and I was forced to do a hard shutdown. I had to do this several times.

    I ran the dell diagnostic test and the quick tests passed. I then ran the 30 minute extended test and I got a memory integrity error on the very final memory test. Is this due to the fact that the OCZ ram has issues with dell laptops... can these specific modules be messed up? Or was it one of those false positives because it was 4 gigs of ram and the test couldn't read the whole 4 gigs? Thanks in advance. I don't know if I sure return the memory now.

    I use OCZ and it works great. Usually, when you change the ram the system will recognize and require a reboot anyway.

    Remove and reseat then reboot and see where u r then.

    Most likely static damage to the ram. Return the memory, or use the lifetime warranty on the memory to get it replaced.

    I reseated the memory and ran the diagnostic test again.. I got the following error on the last part of the extended memory test:

    Error code 0123
    Msg: Error Code 2000-0123
    Msg: Memory integrity test failed
    Address=1_18F87598h. Actual=00000000h
    Expected=00000000h. Ambiguous SMBIOS Data.

    If what flamenko said didn't work, just get a replacement?

    You play guitar flamenko?
