All I have to say is, what a piece of **** design. The card went in but it won't come back out. I assumed that since my laptop was reading the data on it that it was inserted properly, but I can't imagine Dell would design a carder reader such that you could get the card in but not out. The slot is also too small to reach with a tweezers. So basically it's stuck and I have no idea how to get it out. Ideas?

I can imagine Dell doing that...

i guess try yurning it upside down and try to shake it out.

or try to push it in more and it may pop out.

I have a reaaaaaally small thin tweezers that I could clamp it with but it's stuck pretty solid, so if a small tweezers can't do it shaking won't either. I tried the push in for pop out thing and all that did was get it stuck in further. I was able to get it back out to where it was but no further.

Try and pry it out with a pin.

Tried a pin too, I can't get enough traction on the card to get it to move in the slot.

I have a sneaking suspicion that you did not put the smaller part into this "adapter". Blame Sony for this one. Good luck with those tweezers :(
I have no idea how you're gonna get that out.

But next time, make sure you put in the blue/black/whatever (the actual memory card) colored smaller part into the adapter (the top one in the attached photo).

I don't have an adapter... a friend of mine needed some files off a memory stick he left at my house. "Um lol" is not a helpful response.

I'm glad it's out. The 1400 design seems fine...

It's not bad design its meant to be inserted with the attachment. All laptops that have a memory card reader are like that. The attachment comes standard when you buy the memory card.

Lol that gave me a good laugh.

Yay you got it out :D

I dunno, that's the one thing I hate about my Sony Camera. If only it used SD cards :(
