Ok, I ordered my 9300 with 512MB (2x256) I want to move to a 1GB. Should I go with 1 stick or 2 512's? I am assuming the 2 stick upgrade would be better in order to use the Dual Channel. What is the best option for the upgrade? Crucial, OCZ, Kingston, or something else? I would prefer to go with a 1Gb 2 stick kit so that I have a matched pair. Thoughts. Thanks?

well that depends. My opinion is that if you want to upgrade in the future to 2 gb, then you should get a 1gb now. If you don't, then 2 512's would be better so you could use the dual feature.

Whatever you decide to do, look at newegg.com and check thier prices. They have kingston, crucial, transcend, ocz, etc, and right now, they have 1gb (1 stick) for $69.

I would get just one 1GB stick because if you get 2 512MB's, you dont have an open slot for a upgrade in the future. If you dont plan on upgrading and if you think 1GB is enough, then get the 2 512MB because as you said you will be in the dual channel mode.
Since because there are only 2 slots available, if you want to upgrade, you have to remove one of RAM Sticks later on.
Pros of having 2 of the same RAM sticks
You will be in dual channel mode
    Cons
If you want to upgrade, you have to take a stick out to acomedate the new stick
    Pro's of just 1GB stick
You have an open slot available for future upgrades
    Con's
You will be in Single Channel mode for the time being until you get another matching 1GB stick.

My top picks for brands of RAM would be Kingston, Crucial, or Corsair

definately get the 1 gig stick. I have an I9300 and I bought it with the 2-256s. I am now running it in dual channel with 1- 1G stick and 1 of the original 256s. I am just waiting till I have the money the get another 1G but there don't seem to be any drawbacks to running it with mismatched memory. No crashes, memory BMs are normal.
