So I am on the verge of purchasing an Inspiron E1705, as soon as the new $750 Dell coupons come (It has expired already cuz 4000 ppl used it already, and there is no way in that I am paying $2,000+ for a Dell) and because the upgrade to 1GB ram is sooo expensive I plan to only buy 512MB and upgrade with RAM from Newegg, as long as that doesnt void the warranty. Does it? cuz that would strike me as kinda ridiculous. And also, what brand of RAM does Dell use, or what is popular that people reccomend? Thanks for the help!!!

Doesn't void the warranty. Unless they can somehow connect it to something else failing. Minimal chance of that happening. Dell uses variety from all makers. One time I got Infineon in my e1705, the replacement the following week had something else. I have Transcend from Newegg now.

ric3rboy91, I'd recommend buying RAM from newegg but keep your old RAM. If something goes wrong with your PC throw the old RAM back in and send it into dell. If the E1705 came with 1 stick of 512, then buy another 512MB stick from newegg for around $40 shippped then chuck it in. ;)
