I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 and a Dell XPS 1210. My motherboard died on the XPS so I am wondering what I can cannibolize to my inspiron 6000.
The XPS has 2 G DDR2 at 667mhz 2 Dimm can I install this into my inspiron?
Is it possible to take the processor, 2 Duo T7400 (2.16 GHZ/667mhz/4MB) into the Inspiron?

I know I will take the DVD over.

If so what is the best process to do this?

You might be able to install the RAM in the 6000, since it has a 915PM chipset (probably), and is compatible with DDR2-400/533.

CPU not possible. The Inspiron 6000 uses only Socket 479 CPUs, whereas the T7400 is a Socket M.

Take a look at the service manual so that you can see how to swap out the parts.
