I read somewhere on this forum about buying minimum memory (512M) and then self-upgrading it to 3GM or 4GM. I am interested in this approach if I buy a D830.
I am not sure
1. Whether this is a good approach and many people do this thing.
2. It is easy to do it? Any step-by-step how-to available online?
3. Where to buy the extra memory and whether the extra memory is good enough to match D830. Any performance and other issues?
Your input is highly appreciated.
Cheers,
David

Hi David,
refer to my guide here:

I performed this on a D630 but it is identical to the D830. Good luck.
p.s.
1. Yes it is a good approach
