    I was messing around with Everest and couldn't figure out if these are alright results.

    Memory

    Read = 2951 mb/s
    Write = 804 mb/s
    Latency = 104.8 ns Timing 3/3/3/8

    I'm trying to see if this is decent or not.
    The rest of the computers on the list above my benchmark speed are all from Athlon 64s and Pent 4 / EEs with dual 3200 DDR memory chips.
    They are all running int he 4k - 6k range for memory reading.

    I am also curious as to if my memory write speed is lower then it should be. I've seen a lot other chips having a write speed of about 1/2 it's read speed. Any help would be appreciated.

    Note: Dell brand ram. Plan to get some kingston or cosairs later on... Basically had to ge tthe memory upgrade because I needed to go above $1899 for my 35% off I got when I bought laptop.

    I have the i6000d with 1GB of RAM as well, but I have two 512MB 533MHz Micron chips. Also, do you have 2x512MB chips running in dual channel or a single 1GB chip?

    Either way, my Everest benchmarks follow:

    Read = 3163 MB/s
    Write = 814 MB/s
    Latency = 103.9 ns Timing 4-4-4-12

    So, it doesn't seem your benchmarks are that far off. So enjoy.

    1GB RAM (2x512MB 533MHz Micron chips in dual-channel)

    Do you have to specify on the 6000 that you are running single or dual channel?
