Can anyone tell me if I can run a Merom C2D in my Latitude D520 that shipped with a Yonah core duo 1.66?

A socket M merom could work...if it is supported by the BIOS.

I can't say for your specific notebook, but the Yonah and Merom hardware is compatible, so as long as the BIOS has the microcode for the Merom CPU things should work.

But you should wait for a Dell owner who knows more about this to give an answer.
