Hi. I purchased an Inspiron 9200 about a month ago and I'm pretty happy with it. However, I noticed when i have the sound up even just a bit loud, the laptop will make metallic noises every now and then, like the metallic part of the laptop's vibrating. It's like a sharp metallic noise.

Does anybody else have problem like this? It seems when I put my hand on the laptop and press down gently on it, the metallic sound is gone. Any way to fix this?

I don't think it's the keyboard rattling... It's more like...

Hmmm... it's like when I'm watching a movie, and every time one of the characters speaks up or something makes a loud noise, it'll have that metallic high-pitched sound...

Try turning up your laptop as loud as you can and I think you'll see what I mean.

I have the 9200 and have no metalic noise. Is your speaker blown or damaged? The 9200 has the best sounding speakers I have ever heard on a laptop.

Check the volume control settings. If your main volume, speaker volume or wave volume are jacked up to the max raising the volume even just a little will be too much for the laptop's speakers. Mine came from the factory with wave volume all jacked up and after I turned it down the sound was great. No more screeching and distortion.
