    Hello,
    I have the Inspiron 6400 and I am having serious issues with the mic. I am running Vista Home Premium. This is the second headset I buy, and I am still having the same issues. These are the problems:

    1. When I use any voice program, such as Ventrilo or teamspeak, I sound very distant and very crackly, not to mention the sound of a vacuum or something running behind me.

    2. My mic does not pick up anything if I use sound recorder or or the mic setup wizard, it does not pick up any sound using these programs.

    I don't know what to do. I have fiddled with the options in Vista for hours all to no avail. Anyone have any suggestions?
