I have a E1505 running Vista Premium, How do I turn on the microphone to use Skype? Before i make myself look like a fool, does this thing even have a built in mic? Or do i have to attach one? seems kind of ignorant that i dont even know. LOL

If I'm not mistaken, the E1505 does not have a built in mic. You have to purchase a external mic and plug it into the mic port. I dont believe any of the current lappies from Dell have a built-in microphone.

    I know.... It sux.

Hi Rob, it's a Dell Inspiron E1505 your talking about right? One of my friends have one, the other day I checked he said his mic is not working. (also never used if before) It strange because as far as i remember there is a mic hole next to the keyboard (or looks like it) and under hardware sound there is a recording device, but you cant use it. Was it just my imagination or is this true?

After checking and failed, he just bought an external mic.

yeah i saw that as well in the sounds, but it says "microphone line in" which would mean it was a microphone jack not an actual mic.
