    Midnight Blue Shipping Date

    Damn, I hope my Midnight Blue 1520 doesn't get delayed. Anyone who ordered a Midnight Blue recently receive their laptop? When did you place the order and how long before you received it?

    I ordered w/ Midnight Blue and the SWXGA+ screen on 6/29. It got delayed twice, once for the screen, and the second time for the blue lid. It wasn't expected to ship till the first week of August. I cancelled Tuesday and reordered with the black lid and anti-glare screen (having the extra real estate isn't worth the crappy screen). I wanted the Midnight Blue though, real nice color.

    I have the exact same configuration as you, minus the screen. Ordered it the 8th and was expected to ship the 30th, however its going the right way for another delay. Just speaking out of what should be obvious here, I dont think youll be receiving your laptop on the expected date because there are many people who have ordered before you who haven't received theres yet. I know one user onn here got a Blue 1520 and returned it, but thats all i can remember.

    How can it be back ordered and delayed when no one seems to have received a Midnight Blue 1520? I mean, if it's that popular, shouldn't there be at least a few people on this forum that have a Midnight Blue in their hands?

    Thats what gets me, It seems like midnight blue is the reason many orders are getting delayed as its somethign that a lot of delayed orders seem to have in common.. but really, I havent seen or heard of too many people receiving one yet.

    It's not just blue, but all colors but black, red and white that appear to be delaying orders (if you build a system today). I would hope that Dell managed to put out some systems of the other colors like blue by now, though. This delay is new as of today as far as I know, so surely they produced some systems in the other colors prior to today?

    Waiting on a green Inspiron 1520, myself.

    Well our orders were put in well before the Color delay listed on the website went into effect, so technically our colors shouldn't be delaying our orders.

    Yet just about everyone with midnight blue is finding that their orders are getting delayed on their expected ship dates... that and I dont know if anyone has actually received one other than a select few.

    What gets me is that browsing this forum, I've seen people who have received Yellow, Pink, Brown, Black, Red, and Green Inspirons, but I haven't seen anyone who's gotten a Blue one yet.

    I wonder if thye have "blue with webcam" and "blue without webcam" separate lids. Did the person who received a blue 1520 have a webcam?

    Yeah, that's what I meant. I would be surprised if color choice was delaying orders that have been in the system for weeks, unless they don't actually "reserve" parts that are in stock while others are backordered. It would be dumb for them to wait until everything you needed was in stock and then pull it all together. But who knows, maybe that is what they're doing.

    I don't think that would be the case. Seems like the colored outer lid is a separate component from the inner silver lid where the webcam is located.
