    Well, this is a toughy.

If you like blue, get Midnight Blue.
If you like red, get Crimson Red.

I was at a Dell kiosk this morning and saw all of the colors. The midnight blue has a metallic finish to it and is very prone to finger print marks and smudges. It is darker in person than it seems on Dells site. The red seems to be the least prone to smudges. To me at least, basic black looks the best even though it too is prone to finger print marks. All the colors except white have a satin rubbery feeling to them.

Hmmmmn, out of blue or red... I'd choose black every time. :)

For some constructive commentary however: Aren't these fascias listed as parts? Surely, as the one individual cosmetic option of the generic M1330 frame you could forseeably order the other colours as spare panels, therefore expanding your options.

Well, I'd get black over all of them, but between these two...definitely blue.

Black does fingerprint but it's not too bad...I have black on my M1210. I do like the blue also. Something about the red screams AIDS awareness. Probably has something to do with APPLE and their red scheme on products.

Have you seen the red in person? It's not really flashy at all, in the words of my tech, it's "classy." Don't think it's like a sports car

    go red

I have seen the red only so far, but it's really-really nice. Some people think it's feminine but I don't agree. I'd buy a blue one though, it's my favourite color.

Is the blue better or worse for fingerprints than the black?

How about the white, does it suffer from fingerprints?

White...VERY little fingerprints. And because of the gloss finish, if there are any fingerprints you can barely seem them. They also wipe away very easily on white.

Yup, it is definitely Crimson color, more than a basic red.

With all this talk of fingerprints, what if you get the black one, lose the LoJack, called CS and got the refund for LJ, lost the laptop, and the finder ripped the black cover off and held it up to the fingerprint reader, then checked your email?

Rather than run this risk, I am considering red. :)

I saw the crimson at the Dell kiosk a couple of times, personally I don't like the combination of the crimson and black of the battery and bottom of the M1330. To me it becomes too many colors, crimson, silver and black. The black and silver combination is the classiest IMO.

I have the red and don't find it flashy. Red isn't even my favorite color, but it is a really nice color and not trendy like the pink or green. More classic in my eyes.

Red isn't exacly bright red like most thought it would be.

It more of a muted, almost burgandy colour. Its fine in a corporate environment, however, goes without saying Black fits in better. As a collegue put it, red looks "smart".

I had a tough time deciding between black and red.....but the biggest issue with colour is the base. Dell should have a "black" edition (like Nokias N series). Makes for a much upmarket look. Silver just looks cheap...painted silver looks even worst.

Wondering if I could re-anodize the palm rest black, and paint the trip matte black, and then order a vostro keyboard from a 1400.

Dark Blue would be a nice change. Haven;t seen one in person though.
