I have a estimated ship date of today-August 20th (I ordered July 26)-my order says it is still in the build stage. I have received no notification of a delay or anything. So whats the dealio?

    It's delayed.

Usually the delay message is delayed... well at least it was for me.

I hope Dell shoppers like black. Because if you want an Inspiron this year, you'd better settle for black.

But seriously, isn't it amazing how they market those colors to death on TV and then take months to get the one you want?

Yea, my thoughts exactly. Though I think things will settle down a bit after the new school year starts.

Most of these orders seem to be for students. I just order my PC for college last week, but I opted for a Latitude D830. :-0

I think even the black ones are going slowly... You'll probably get notification soon that your order is going to be delayed...

evster... If you haven't gotten the message yet, I would call and talk to a CSR to make sure they don't cancel your order because of the FTC rule...

out of curiosity... what are your specs?

I got my call at 3pm on the day that it was supposed to ship. The phone lady wasn't updated for a couple of days. I also cancelled and reordered on that day, because I wanted to change the screen. So now I'm back at the end of the line.

    See below.

I've been on the Dell chat to find out whats going on and apparently I have a delay on the blue cover and the display. I was told it should be done by the 1st of September at the latest. My ESD still hasnt changed though, which is perturbing me.
