I just went on the Dell website and I think that they stopped producing the Mini 9. I suppose that the Mini 10v has replaced it now... If I'm not mistaken, that's the first netbook to die. (apart from the never good cloudbook and first gen eee's)

I always thought that system was a cute little one. I was attracted to it for some reason. I'm sorry to see it go. I wish they offered more HDD / SSD space though.

Yes, it's pretty much gone, gone and going...

    See this thread:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=385604

It is a great Netbook. I've had mine for a bit of time..and I bring it nearly everywhere with me...Hence, loving that portability!

And, yes this is the first Netbook for Dell to be eliminated.. :(

You, can still get it at the Outlet..for some really great deals! ;)

    Cin ;) :)

I imagine Dell figured that a 9" netbook just wasn't worth it anymore, since they now have two different 10" models, both of which are significantly more powerful than the Mini 9 ever was. They probably also noted the fact that the difference between 9" and 10" isn't much to the naked eye. :p

Also, as Cin' pointed out in the other thread, Dell still offers a 9" netbook in the forum of the Vostro A90, from the Small Business section of their website, similarly built and similarly priced to the late Mini 9.

When they rolled out the Mini 10v a few weeks back, I saw this coming....

A few months ago, several sources were saying that the Mini 12 was being discontinued. I'm sure it probably will give way to an 11.6" model soon, but it's still here for now...

I wonder if the Vostro A90 will soldier on as the lone 8.9" model? Or will the Mini 10v see duty as a Vostro instead? Then there's the Latitude 2100...

They do plan to replace the Mini 12 with an 11" model, if their leaked roadmap is to be believed. And the Latitude 2100 is meant to be a kid-friendly learning notebook, although I suppose there's probably not too much difference.

It's a for sure gone..noticed last night and double checked this morning.
Well, those of us that have it..now have the *first Classic Dell Netbook*, and for me a fine one it is! :D

So, I'm sure the sales of the Mini 10 & 10v will increase..that being the 10" is the stronghold as a Netbook in today's market!!!

Of course, it will live on in the Dell Outlet indefinitely.....and starts at $249 at the moment! Not too bad.

The Vostro 1320 is SWEET! If it had an LED display, I'd be all over that!

For the price and specs, the Mini 10 just beat out the 9 hands down.

Well, on the consumer side there's the Inspiron 13, XPS M1330 (not for much longer) and the Studio XPS 13....oh yeah, and the Adamo 13!

The business side has the Vostro 1320 and Latitude E4300.

The Inspiron 13 will be updated/replaced very soon...it'll be a twin to the Vostro 1320, I bet. Hopefully they'll put an LED display in it and offer it in RED! :D

    RIP Dell mini 9.

I'm glad that I got one in time. Perhaps they'll increase in worth now? :O

It's back again ... Dell Mini 9 makes surprise reappearance on Dell's website

    http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&oc=DNCOXM2&s=dhs

Dell must have had to sell out their remaining stock or they were so popular that they decided to keep them available as long as people were buying.
You can pick your version of the truth... ;)
