I have seen this problem mentioned on another forum, but not here. (Unless I missed it.)

Since getting my mini 9, it has frozen 3 times. It required holding down the power button for 20 seconds to get it to turn off. Then it turned on and worked normally. Twice, I was holding it in my left hand and typing with my right. Yesterday, I was holding it and turned it on, and it froze in the middle of booting up. Not squeezing hard, just holding it. If I start off with this sitting on a table, then turning on, it works with no freezing.

I'm kind of wondering if the pressure exerted right under my finger can be squeezing something inside causing the lockup. And would it be easy enough to unscrew/remove the entire back to see whats going on inside?

That's the strangest thing I've ever heard. The only thing I can think of is that the pressure might be interfering with the hard drive needle if you squeeze too hard...do you have a regular hard drive or SSD?

Also, hello from Cleveland. I used to live in Eastlake and University Heights. :p

I had this happen with my Mini 9 once...I considered it a *fluke*, as going forward after that ~ it didn't happen again.

I think you should try your idea of opening up the back...and see what it looks like underneath. They made the Mini 9 pretty easy to *get into* as you know! ;)

I'm curious to hear your results..hopefully positive!
If not...you can always contact Dell.. ;)

    Cin ;) :)
