Just got my vostro 1500 today, and I really love this thing
    I had a toshiba M40 before. gaming laptop with a Geforce 6600
Moving to the 8600 was a natural upgrade for me (STARCRAFT 2 BABY!)

    Specs:
    T7300 2.0ghz
    Geforce 8600M GT
    1440 res screen
    2 gigs ram
    160 gb hard drive
    wireless n

Couple of pros that no one's really pointed out
-With wireless n, it feels like I have MUCH better reception on my wireless b router. I'm pretty happy with the speeds I'm getting
-Very good screen, crisp and clean. Brigther than my M40's and much sharper (LG Philips screen)
-Runs relatively cool. I'm actually pretty surprised how little heat comes out of this thing even when it's doing heavy gaming. I think it's just very well ventilated

Couple of Cons no one's really pointed out
-SHORT power chord. It's at least 2 fee shorter than my old Toshiba power cord (which was made by Lite-On). The shape of the thing is also pretty odd. On the plus side, the plug only has the 2 prongs so it'll work on more plugs.
-This thing is a fat mofo. Very thick. Much thicker than I thought it'd be
-Microphone has poor reception. you need to talk pretty loud to get anything decent
-Wobbly CDs in tray. I have a Hitachi CD drive. When I installed office, I heard the cd 'rubbing' the top of the tray. I pulled it out, put it back in and then pushed the cd down really tightly. worked fine after that, but seems like a danger

    Generic Pros
-Very fast. Runs current games at great speeds at top quality (tested out Prey, but running bioshock might give it a run for its money)
-webcam is pretty sharp, and has a decent refresh rate

    Generic Cons
-Wobbly battery. Not terrible, but it's noticeable when I'm carrying it around
-Touchpad is not all that responsive, and it's very 'thin'

    Overall, I'm diggin this laptop
I had some cons that I wasn't expecting when I ordered it, so I thought I'd point them out to others.
