How can I find out what monitor I have on my new laptop? Do I need to take the computer apart or is there another way? I appreciate any help!

I bought a Vostro 1400 with a 1280-800 resolution screen (w/ true-life). While some images appear a little dull, there's very little ‘grain’ on the screen. I didn’t go for the higher resolution screen because from past experience the icons are just too small – I would always have to lower the resolution. I know there’s a know issue with some of the screens – I hope I didn’t get a bad one (I still have time to return the laptop).

I gotta tell you though, the reflective screen is already annoying me – but most new laptops are this way.

Bang for the buck, it’s a sweet little laptop though.

Go to computer, right click on it, click manage. Press continue if UAC comes up. Then click on device manager on the left hand side. Now click the plus next to monitors. Right click General PnP Monitor (I think that's what it's called). Then go to the last tab with the selection list in it. Click on the down arrow and go to Hardware IDs. Post the code that is in there on this forum and people will tell you what company it is from.
