Hello,
Here is the thread I created a while back - http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=210905
Summary: The wireless switch was off during format, I turned it back on after putting XP on, and bluetooth no longer worked. I found some enormous driver pack (I'm talking 100MB+) from the dell site, and installed it.
It worked for a bit, but crapped out now, and just started erroring out when I tried to do stuff like transfer files etc. So I uninstalled the drivers via control panel. Lo and behold, it starts erroring out on me, saying "Please disable the bluetooth device before you continue". But oh dear! The bluetooth icon is gone from the systray. GG. I just had to click OK and let it proceed. It completed without errors, so I rebooted.
I didn't get a "New Device Found" popup from windows, so I opened up the device manager and my bluetooth device is nowhere to be seen. So I went to "Add Hardware" in control panel. Ran the auto detector, and SURPRISE my bluetooth adapter is not detected. So I go to the manual selection menu thing, and:
![]()
So I clicked "Next", and:
![]()
How to fix this? Looks like the drivers weren't properly uninstalled and are causing issues. How can I 'clean' this sucker out?
