I have an M1330 that I love if not for the fact that it has completely died on me twice (among various other problems.) I bought it last August and the first time it failed was in November. Now the tech tells me he needs to send someone to replace my motherboard again.
I was just wondering if I have any options such as requesting a refurbished replacement system or even possibly new system? I have a one year warranty that I am DEFINITELY renewing.

If it fails a 4th time, you are entitled to a replacement or refund as per law. Until then, you can ask but Dell might not listen.

Thank you for the quick response. So if it fails a 4th time, no matter how long its been since I purchased the laptop, as long as I'm under warranty I can request replacement?

As long as you are under warranty (and in the US). Its called the Lemon Law. Just be nice and you probably won't have to be a pain.

lol my X205 is dying on me again and needs to be repaired. It has already died once and it is only 4 months old.

hmm sounds like the laptop may be overheating for the mother board to go out like that. typicaly the CPU gets too hot and if the laptop doesnt shut it self down (like it should) it will just fry the CPU and the socket on the motherboard. Or it could just be Dell bought some defective motherboards.

My old Thinkpad T60 blew a motherboard in November 07, May08 and June08. Lenovo loves it, I'm sure. I didn't know about the replacement thing, but I'm going to be contacting the buyer and letting him know about this.
Motherboard needs to be replaced AGAIN!
