I just have two simple question. I'm planning on getting the Dell e1505 with the duo core processors. I was planning on getting the cheapest RAM option while buying hte laptop, and then going to the accessories part of the website and getting 1gb DDR2 667 Mhz RAM for cheaper than on the options ( which also don't offer 533MHz ram). I was wondering how easy is it to replace the RAM on the laptop? I have done desktop replacements but never notebooks.

Also, does the dell mouse touchpad have a scrolling thing on the right side like the HP's do? Because that is extremely, extremely useful.

    Thank you for your help.

My laptop is slowly coming to me,as seen in my sig..anyways
    1) When you turn over the laptop(the black part, that shows the battery), there should be a small lid that is held down by 2-3 screws. Just unscrew those screws and remove the lid to add/remove the ram.
2)From images, there appers to be a side scrolling thing

There are 2 screws to access the RAM module. You take the cover off, line up the pins, insert at a 45 degree angle, then gently push down to lock into place. You could literally unscrew, install memory, and screw the cover back on in one minute :p

And yes the mousepad has the vertical and horizontal scrollers:

On my desktop, it is a pain to upgrade ram because of the wires are in the way and i have to find room to move them and find a way to insert the big ram module. Atleast on notebooks, it has very easy access :)

Yeah I was really happy with how easy it was to add a GB of RAM to my laptop! Long gone are the days of fumbling through wires around video cards, optical drives, hdds and floppy drives in my old desktops.

I did the same thing you're doing, only I'm going to be buying 2gb of DDR2 667 ram from Fry's Electronics for about $160 + tax. see here

i think i heard merom is gunna be like $500 or somethin ridiculous. And besides, with a good enough yonah and enough Ram, i think your system will be able to compete with a merom.
