    Ok here's the case...

    On a Dell 1520:

    I bought a 32 GB SSD. So far i've had a 250 GB HDD (Samsung hm250ji).
I need to move to the SSD drive without the need of reinstalling OS and everything. In other words, i need to clone them. I will still be using the HDD as external (usb).

Of course the original hard disk has Media Direct partition... I'm not really using it, but I hear trying the old traditional way of using Ghost or Acronis True Image will not work.

There's also the problem of the size... i'll need to resize the partition of the original disk to meet the new disk requirements...

Can someone give me instructions of how i could successfully perform this move?

Thanks in advance for your time.

you will likely need to start over. imaging does not usually like to go to a smaller drive. BTW what drive did you get? that ssd is likely way slower than your old hard drive.

Why would you say its way slower?

In fact, here are the results of my drive, and that drive... (mine is the first picture)

Not bad for a $100 ssd i think. I got it of mydigitaldiscount's ebay store. The drive can be found at their site.

Also, what if i resize my current partition? Like down to 33GB, then image it. That will not work?
