So I bought a Inspiron 9400 with a 2.0 core duo CPU and a Geforce 7800 with a WXGA screen. What I wanted to do is take my WUXGA screen from my old Inspiron 9300 and put in the 9400. So I did that and when I turn on the 9400, the WUXGA screen looks super dim. Like there's no way it should be this dim and I can't even increase brightness with the function, up arrow keys. When I put the screen back into the 9300 it works fine. When I tried the WXGA screen on the 9300 to test, it didn't even show a picutre.

So I'm wondering what's wrong? I reinstalled Windows XP on the 9400 and that didn't seem to help either. So what's wrong? Do I need to upgrade drivers or something? Or can I not transfer my 9300 LG? screen (lgl000) to the 9400 or what?

There's no guarantee that the different screens will be interchangeable. Most likely, the wuxga screen has different power requirements than the wxga screen. You could always call dell and ask, they'd be able to tell you for sure.
