    Hello,

To those who is about to order the 9300, you must order the 256MB NVIDIA 6800 with it (even if you're not a gamer or think you never play games) please. You will when you see the 6800 card can do :))

I owned a 9300 with 128 meg ATI card and like some of you I convinced myself by saying "I am not a gamer and don't care about 256 card, 128 is plenty". Well, I was blown away by comparing my buddy 9300 with the 256 card. Just watching DVD seems smoother and screen redraws just so much nicer. Basically, anything with graphics (not even intensive) or video shines with the 6800 card. I need to mention that my 9300 and his are identical accept for the video card.

He then put in some games he had and my mouth dropped  . I then installed that same game on my 9300 and it was still nice, but I could see the huge difference between mine and his (REALLY, I COULD ACTUALLY SEE A HUGE DIFFERENCE).

I am still not a gamer, but I am convinced that the 256 card is the way to go. I am now a happy owner of another 9300 with 256 card (in boxing stage).

I totally agree, get the 256 meg 6800 go card. It will really add to your system even if you arent a gamer and besides, web surfing requires more and more graphical rendering these days, Its a great investment that also adds significant resale value to your laptop down the road. I too am one of those "not a gamer" users on my laptop, but I do use streaming video and watch dvd's on occasion, the 6800 card makes alot of difference when performing these tasks.

the XPS Gen 2 has a 6800 ULTRA, whereas the i9300 has a 6800 vanilla card. the only difference in these cards are the clock frequencies, and if you care to know, the cooling system is a bit heavier on te XPS Gen 2.

yea...the only difference is the video cards...but still...i wouldn't pay that much more money to get the ultra..unless it was an option for the 9300...but the 6800 go is also tied for 2nd best graphics card in the market wit the X800 :D
