According to an e-mail received only moments ago, my order is in Texas!! This goes against everything they have told me previously, which is 3-4 different dates and delays. I still have to wait for it to reach Canada, however it won't be long now.

The site still says "in production" though.

    THERE'S HOPE FOR YOU ALL!

I'm excited too. I just got the following email:

At least it's some good news for once. I just hope it's correct.

It won't be long now etexbill :D

    Oh, here's what I got..

I'm guessing that means that it was sent to Texas, where it'll now be pushed across the border, and then into my house.

I can only assume that a lot of people who had ordered their 1520's before I did, and haven't received them yet (with the exception of colored lids), will probably be getting theirs shortly.

Hey Cactapus, what colour did you order? Btw...realllllll jealous at the moment lol

You should wet our appetites a bit more by posting some pics of it if it's a colour that is not too common on here (red/blue and black). Just a thought ;)

I got a black, which was why I was so surprised when I first got the message of a month long delay. Clearly Dell has some major problems keeping track of things, but in this case it turned out for the better, despite me having an angry couple of days.

But yeah, I can post up some pics, despite it being black.. I'll most likely be doing a review so they'll be included with that. I could paint it pink for you? :p

Excellent idea! Lesse, how does that one go...

    "Dell,
Grant me serenity to accept the delays I cannot change,
Courage to get the concessions I can, and
Wisdom to know the ship date."

Our Dell God, who art in Malaysia,

    Hallowed be thy delay dates.

    Thy order come.

    Thy will be tested,

In my house as it is in Malaysia.

Give us this day our daily updates.

And forgive us our inability to be patient,

As we forgive those who delay our bloody orders!

And lead us not into cancellation,

    But deliver our notebooks quickly.

    For thine is the kingdom,

    and the power,

    and the glory,

    for ever and ever.

    Amen.

Depends on where the DELL processing plant is. The one that shipped to me is in Nashville, TN (I don't know if Canadians use the same one). It took 3 days, including a Saturday and Sunday for it to arrive. I thought that was quite fast.

lol I just tried to check in on my order using chat, but where the order was under my mom's name the lady (who seemed to be American/Canadian) wouldn't give me any information. Last week I did the same with someone from India on chat and I got my information.

    I don't know who's better to deal with =P

LOL!! I thought of 3 things when I read this:

#1. "Dell God is lazy." - Pragun. "Pragun is delayed (again)." - Dell God

(based on the classic... "God is dead." - Nietzsche. "Nietzsche is dead." -God)

#2. We could compile a "Posters' Letters to Dell God", that would rock!

(based on the classic... "Children's Letters to God" - neat book, btw)

#3. And in the vein of Pragun and the classic book in #2:

    Dear DellGod,

I thought you created everything in 6 days.

    Love, HappyFunBall

    p.s. Please don't smite me.

As I posted earlier, last night I got an email from a csr in India telling me my 1520 was in the FINAL stages of production and made it sound like it would ship any day or at least by the esd of 8/10. I got another email tonight from a totally different csr in India telling me that my 1520 was just "in production" and he/she would keep me updated of the progress. The 2nd email does not seem to be so optomistic as the first

The first day has passed, and today is the second day. It should be here soon!

The purolator site says it's still in transit in the U.S, but it said it was last updated late last night.

just talked to a dell rep, and he said he's noticing a small decline in the delays due to the blue colored laptop. I ordered my 1520 (blue) on July 18th, and it's expected to ship in 12 days or less. I asked if it could be more, and the rep said he doubted it cuz from his experience in the past few days, he's seen the delay go from 21, to 12 days. Hope is near!

Thanks for the info, maybe my Midnight Blues are lifting after all... but it's still a bit of a I'll-believe-it-when-I-see-it thing...
